Bastian oversees legal, tax, and regulatory matters at QFT, bringing over 15 years of international private equity experience to the firm's governance and compliance functions. His practice spans M&A transactions, fund structuring, investment vehicle design, and regulatory compliance across European and transatlantic mandates. At QFT he also holds an Investment Committee role, combining deep legal expertise with direct involvement in allocation decisions.
Earlier in his career, Bastian held senior roles at RSM US LLP and Lennertz & Co. Private Equity, where he advised on complex cross-border fund structures and tax-efficient investment vehicles for institutional clients. His international practice covered SEC and European regulatory frameworks and gave him a breadth of experience across both advisory and principal investment contexts.
Bastian holds a PhD in International Tax Law from the University of Potsdam and an LL.M. from Seton Hall Law School. He is a certified German Tax Advisor and certified German Lawyer, and holds additional credentials from the University of Münster.
